Loretta Grey Cloud, also known as (A Wica Hde Pin Win) She Brings the People Home Woman, is Associate Director of Operations for the Center for Indigenous Health (CIH) Great Plains Hub, which is situated at the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. A loyal advocate of Indigenous Health and Leadership, Loretta is a proud enrolled member of the Hunkpati Dakota Sioux Tribe and descendant of the Kul Wicasa Lakota Sioux Tribe. Loretta is proud to be a product of the Tribal school system from Kindergarten through undergrad, she graduated from Tiospa Zina Tribal school in 2005 and obtained her Bachelor of Science from Salish Kootenai College (SKC) in 2015. She left SKC a biomedically trained researcher and completed her post graduate training at the National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Navigating those systems as a first generation college student, rooted her in her commitment to advancing collaborative approaches to create and sustain Tribal College University (TCU) and reservation high school student pathways to medical school and beyond. As a Co-Founder of the Indigenous School of Medicine, Loretta works to diligently to uplift her story and those TCU peers in spaces where decisions are being made. Reminding those counterparts of Indigenous knowledge systems and ways of being. Let us never forget… We have always been healers.
